The last man in europe:

- WAR IS PEACE
- FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
- IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
First thing that passed my mind “Fuck! Man , we are doomed”. I ve read the book after its presence in my “to-be-read” list for ages: scary shit. I wonder how the future is getting more and more dystopian every day… I love Utopia!!!
Non Leggere 1984 in italiano - l’ignoranza è forza.
Don’t Read 1984 - Ignorance is Strength

Lemme quote one of my fave manga (jojo’s bizzarre adventure) to start the second part of the report. This time the place was Paracas. Timeframe: 27-29 December 2007.. Probably you have seen the picture already, if not some are here: http://www.macchetta.com/manolo/pictures/peru-2008-paracas http://www.macchetta.com/manolo/pictures/peru-2008-paracas-part-ii (while ALL are here: http://www.macchetta.com/pix/index.php?cat=2 ) The team was GianAngelo (elsa’s bro), Rosario ( elsa’s friend) else and me. we left early in the morning, first pitstop: san antonio (sandwich bar). The trip was 2.5 hours long and we passed by the desert.. well basically all the peruan coast is desertic. I was told it s due to the cold sea flow, named “Humbold” which causes wind and NO rain. and when i say NO, i mean zero, nada.

so the trip was kinda strange. the dune are impressive, and so are the “stone” mountains that appears here and there.. if you are lucky you might also see the fog, then the sun, then the fog again. surreal. Just outside Lima there are the first “occupied” lands.. basically when there is a decent number of family who want to move into lima, they leave their place, occupies a desert zone, build a small house, settle down and wait till the government build some kind of infrastructure… around one hour of highway and there is a “posh” place to go .. but the name defies me at the moment… G going south and we crossed canete, which had still sign of the earthquake which break through last august… and then Pisco, the epicentre. I was told that the earthquake was loooooooong lasting ( about two minutes…) and hard hitting. Pisco has deep scars in the wall… the same earthquake also destroyed one of the main attraction: the cathedral… :-||

by the way we arrived at our hotel “mirador”, drop our stuff and then went to the Reserva Nacional de Paracas.. (wikipedia in english is not a good link.. better the spanish version -> http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserva_Nacional_de_Paracas ). Paracas National Park is famous for the above mentioned cathedral (destroyed), the chandelier (a bit alike nazca’lines) and some WONDERFUL beaches. we spend all the day driving up and down, falling in the cold sea ( especially elsa :-), taking pictures and acting silly as i like :-)

We waited for the sunset and the show was really great. pity my camera sucks big time :)

Here it s the first part of my report of my Trip in Peru.
25th Milano: Xmas + airplane
Usually in my family xmas days go like this:
- 24 afternoon - rush for buying presents
- 24 night - alles free
- 25 morning - present opening
- 25 midday xmas lunch
- 25 afternoon relatives
My leaving for peru changed the plans and we had a good 24th evening xmas dinner + present opening, and i also skipped the afternoon with relatives :-)
i got some nice present. a Full 500 something page book on Dali from my brother, a nice tee shirt, some money and a bag for the travel (ehhehe ) plus other things
we got my mom the sing and dance game for WII, boogie. the song are in english and that was not the best for a karaoke… but still, singing kamakamakamakamilion is sooo fun!
at 5:30 in the morning i left, direction Lima via Madrid.
there is not so much to tell about the trip itself, coz i slept for almost all its lenght.
Iberia sux btw, small seats, no tv and stuff, few food.
on the other side Madrid airport is VERY good, one of my fave at the moment. big, clean, fast, many shops.
I arrived in Lima at around 19:00, the view from the plane was odd… Lima is build on the desert!!! and there is some strange stone formation ( with NO green plants) coming out the flat land! Elsa + his brother ( gian) come to pick me up….
the area near the airport seems a wasteland but if you consider the fact there is desert dust everywhere and that most of the house are still under construction it s not that waste:).

I was told that in lima is common to buil the first floor of own house and wait to earn enough to start building the second: this is a wise way to get a nice house (by only building what you can affort), but the first impact is strong
26th Lima: shopping in Artesania
went around the city, met some of elsa’s friend, went to eat some good fish, rest for the jetlag, and a night out in a posh place in lima with some friends( the CALA resturante in Playa Barranquito), all in preparation for the first stops: Paracas

I ve had great time in Peru ( paracas, cuzco, machupichu, inka trail) and i ll add all on this blog soon.
meanwhile enjoy this video of me at Costa Verde in Lima, Peru dancing huayno. Costa Verde is a resturant with a folk show. Elsa ( the girl laughing her ass off in the video) organised me a trap and told the dancer to pick me up and go on stage.
ahahahha not my highest point in public performace :-)
