Amsterdam

Last weekend was a loooong one. I ve been near Amsterdam to play at “I hate trance” party.
It was my first time as dj in netherland: but I ve spend something like 5 months in 1999-2000 in den Haag, so Nl is not totally unknown to me. I dont like amsterdam too much ( expecially the city center: only junkies, prostitutes, drug dealer and tourist rippin’ place), but i do like the surrounding. I really like them: to me water is a very chilling element ( i often dreams of swimming pools…) and without dubt Holland is a Water country…
Anyway my weekend report: I woke up at 6 to be right on time for the plane at 9. Basiq air/ transavia planes take off from ORIO Al SERIO , between Milan and Bergamo, this is the place where most low cost company are based. intersting thing: it s actually closer to the city than Malpensa, which is the political-chosen airport.
Once i arrived in adam with the happy gang of italians ( fabrizio, frazz + than, marzio/splitter, adriano/ creed .. and other i dont know) i contacted dj Akira: we agreed for a meeting in the afternoon, togheter with Jonas ( voldo from SWEden).
i go shopping in A’dam, i look for a pair of Nike Waffel for my bro. didn’t find any for him but i got a 60% cut price for me. So i m a owner of Nike shoes, brazillian coloured. i got some present for my parents and at last i found By AH- ALbert Heijin supermarket.. what is so good in finding a supermarket you might wonder? the best Nutella clone EVER!.
it s Choco Paste as it as to be… 14.5% of cocoa, not that helzenut shit you are used to eat.
after those i brought Broodje Harrings. they are plain harrings with bread, look bad, taste good once you get used.
i sat down in siegel feed some pigeons, looking at the river, and eating some un healthy things. that is laid back!
at 16:00 i was at Kin’s place. he is always so kind. we chatted a lot, listened to music. i realised how bad Renoise sounds.
renoise is my current used music program but its sound engine pales in comparison to Logic…
after a REAL catones food ( really good, btw) we left for the party.

Paty location was good, but SPeakers were a bit weak ( monitor were loud ). Dutch gabber are not sissies and like HARD stuff, fast gabber. i think it s a very good audience for my style of core.
during the night many dj succeded: Dj Plague (Canada) nice music and great mimic, Hypersonik (UK), Voldo (Se), Smurf (uk), Amiga shock Force didnt show up so Akira spun some records, Frazz and I had some problems with a Laptop so we didnt play a flawless set., but i guess people liked it anyhow. I ve met once again the noisekcik couple ( rudmer + elske) they are a very nice couple togheter. Rudmer not only played hard but also had a wonderful “panda-shaped” mask.
i missed the chance to chat with the Austrian guys but after 15 hours of driving i guess they were wasted. we came back to the hotel at something like 9.something in the morning.

as you may guess in the afternoon we were not so active and wandered around A’dam like zombie till 22:00. Went to sleep early, coz the day after we were due to milan.

Kraftwerk

After 17 years Kraftwerk have made their come back in Italy. they choose two locations: Rome and Turin. I went to the nearer Torino in the Lingotto auditorium. Lingotto is the place were Fiat build and tested cars till the 80s. I left with my friend at 18:00 from Milan. I had an appointment with my “core- mates”: Hotrebor, Piero, Nico, Dany+Leila. They are GREAT fan of Kw and they also went to see them in Paris! they booked the concert the very first day ticket were available, so they were on second line to see the show.

few days ago i started a post with “sento il mio corpo che cambia”.. and shit, it s true, once again!
yesterday i went to “jet leg” night in Magazzini. Overally the music was not that great, but i liked it anyway!
and i start liking this “music for old people”: tech house, deep house, lounge/chil !
arrrgggg!!!!!!!!
while listening to : Grant dell & daniel poli - devastating, Dan Berkson - Metamorphisis, and timo maas - Maasmellow (Casseopaya Remix), i start wandering with my head ( as usual at this time :-)

Toshi Sanada - the hanging Gardens of Korvetto / i giardini prensili di corvetto.

i ve decided to use the “Sanada” surname for various project:
while surname will be the same the name of the brother will be, of course, different.
The family is composed by 5 people, build on the Japanese pentalogy: the main chara, his antagonist, even more dark and charmy, the Fat boy, the child, and the lady.
Manuel Sanada is for Idm / ambient music it already appeared on Analphabetik 02, and is a latin name: a different version of my name.
the other name that have not released ( and thus not 100% confirmed)
Toshi Sanada is techno - tech house - name is Japanese and means “Mirror Image”, and thus fit like a gloove. there are other cool Japanese names (link here )
Johnathan Sanada - i guess trance / progressive stuff. it s more an english name: dedicated to one of my fave books: the seagull Johnatahn livingstone.
Latif means “elegant” in Indi, so it would be best fit for ” elegant” music like deep house / lounge/ downtempo. but i dont like the very name.
Latifah is a female and i like it more. it s stated as african on the site above linked. Ramya is an Hindu female name for elegant+ beautiful and is my fave at the moment.

Sanada Bros is a side project, and so is Sanada family.

Speaking of unused track name:
Rotello vs manuel sanada - taking advantage / ravish Richrad J. ( while he is on droqz).
i wanna sample the whole “Droqz album” by Aphex Twin ( Richard D. James ) and make a new track with those samplez: the result will be shitty (ravish as raping) but hopefully dancebale ( ravish sounds as “rave”).
hopefully no one will care and i ll got not any problem with laws :-)

Odd films

I was chatting with Pierpaolo ( also known as The Destroyer in the gabber scene) about movies, i told him that i ve seen very nice Kung-fu ones.. he told me he likes more wicked movie like… the cube. he he i do like that KIND of movie too! i think they are “industrial” movie. I didnt like the Cube that much ( idea was great, but the development of the characthers was so bad!!)

I liked the Cyberpunk in the 80’s but now i prefer much more this Dystopia / Utopia movie. or maybe jus odd shit. if you dont understand what i m speaking about:
Cyberpunk is the “close dirty future” like Bladerunner, Total Recall, Johnny Mnemonic, and much more ( in library look for Neuromande by William Gibson).
The Utopia / Dystopia are Much more common. Faherneiheit 451, Logan’s Run, Gattaca are the ones which spring to my mind now ( in library: Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, or for orwell’s 1984) .
Odd shit: not a real category, but i guess many will agree with me… they are science, they are fiction, they are wicked!! anyway Pierpa suggested me The cube, Hyper-cube ( cube II), I told him to get his hands on Pi ( great!!), Moebius’ string ( an argentinian movie where a underground train goes into a parallel dimension which is few second phased from ours), Tetsuo - the iron man and his remake/follow-up Tetsuo II :body hammer.
i m sure i ve seen other wicked movie i promise myself to make a list.

Hi skool pre meeting -

I ve already spoken about our (yet-to-be) class reunion.
since next 18, may ( official aperitivo) i ll be in Turin for The Kraftwerk concert i decided to meet my closer mate from highskool, Gianadrea.
Now he works in a bank so i didn’t know what to expect. we met at Colonne di San Lorenzo, he come by motorbike, i came with my restless bike. He is more or less the same.
a bit fatter ( who is not after 10 years?) and shaved-head. i guess he is tryng to hide a good half bald head :-)
We had a very nice chat and, quite oddly, we didnt spoke about past time, but present. that is good!!! i wonder why i lost contact with him, coz i think we both were confortable togheter.
we tried to figure outhow other class mate would have become. some of the girls could have become fat, probably other are much better looking ! ( we were all so ugly in the early 90s :-)
I think i ll meet him again.

Ukiyoe

At last Last sunday I went with Nicoletta to see the “Ukiyoe - images from the Floating world”: I really like that, the art is not very “complicated” but still often we awe for its immagination and minimalism. Differently from the west art, Most of them are not a perfect copy of reality: they are their quintessence.
The Kabuki artists pictures stand so strong you cannot believe, the panorama views are great and detailed ( i guess you all know the famous “wave” by Hokusai): the female figures are extremely sexy, too !! I also reckognise some of the same style of oldskool manga! (one title for all: Lone Wolf and cub)
The exhibition path has six stops: Theatre, where you kan see Kabuki paintings, Tradition , mainly shiontoism religion, which is a perfect complement of Nature, Kappa, Tengu, Montain, Fujisan, Postal offices, water falls… Landscape ( mainly the already cited Hokusai and some epigones) .
Town life: painting from Yoshiwara, the leisure quarter, normal people doing usual thing and so on. Almost all the artists of the floating world created erotic works: paintings, prints or books ( very famous is the Poem of the Pillow by Utamaro) . i liked one were there was this girl with an Octopus which ( or who ?) is grabbing her. ( if you know hentai manga.. this is the archetype!!!!!!). Last part was Beautiful women: surprisliy not all were as sexy as other pictured in other section of the exhibition!

i didn t understand if this was a comments to my person or just general. point 2 (the bike thing :-) is for me at 100% but point 1 and 3 are not ( expecially point 3!) i must add these rules sux a bit, but you can try them yourself. while reading this i remember this song Teorema, by Marco Ferradini. one of the best “love song” of last millenium for the italian audience. “prendi una donna trattala male, falla aspettare per ore …. alalalalll ala la ” i might traslate it… naa…. (edit: i found the text here: babel fish will traslate with the arse, so find an italian to traslate this.)
anyway. i dont agree with most of the above sentence, but I am not a girl and that would explain why my sexual life is so plain :-/ I posted this topic only to remember me that “boys have wee and girls have not, boys have wee and girls have not, boys have wee and girls have not …” and therefore there must be also some other differences :-)

Degree Days

The month of April, for any Bocconians ( student of Bocconi university in Milan) has always been a borderline. After that, you have to pay taxes for an other half year! but if you degree before, you ll save money and succeded to stay within your right class year. going “fuori-class” has been VERY easy for decades, until the Gov reformed the uni-paths. but this is an other story.
Between today and yesterday, in this late april session almost 1400 people did it .. almost one fucking thousand and a dam half! all waiting to eat in the same soup you want to feed. argh!
Among these 1400 there were, Catarina, Filippo, who went undercovert, Chiara, the two turkish twin, merve and yesim and daniel el Giandu.

Catarina, is a german girl i met in one of my very first years at uni. he come here for love, learned italian, learned business, has been working in a shop, all this and succeded in keeping his boyfriend!! whatta fuck ! respect to her.
Filippo is one of nicoletta’s hiskool class mate, from Piacenza. he is a fun guy. he has almost always lived in Piacenza, with the exception of his year with Fabiana, when he used close to live in Colonne di San Lorenzo.
Chiara is an other friend of mine, she is a perfectionist.. too much indeed. she took a lot alot of timr to get the degree coz he only went to exam when she was sure to know almost everything. as matter of fact she got 8 point at the discussion (a couple of vote more than the max of the 3-6 avarage, and only 2 minus than the “theorical extreme, 10).
Merve and Yesim are two turkish twin, very cute, living in italy. i met them during their very first year at uni. they were party animal as i were. i attended to many turkish birthday party and they were so good. around 4 years ago they completed their exams ( without cheating, swapping exams.. crazy girls!! i d have done any chosen day!). they come back to Istanbul, then here again, then go and back. at the end they degreed today.
Daniele, also know as Giandu ( as Gianduiotto, coz he is from Turin) is a major rocco siffredi - porno stardom fan. he often signs as Robert Malone. ahah he is a fun guy too.

Chiara had degree exam at 9:something. i wake up at 7, after 3 restfull hours of sleep :-/ .
I had my Breakfast, and i was more or less in time at 8:5something when i saw filippo, walking in the halley alone…. whatta fuck you do here,man ?…. he got his degree and keep his silence to everybody! not only me, but also nicoletta, his parents and all his friend. he was alone !!! i spend two minutes two in greetings. and ta dah. i missed Chiara’s speech. 1 out, 1 to go.
i haged around with filippo and Chiara, while they took pictures.
I also met that senegal newspaper seller ( whose name now defiles me now). we got a nice chat, he told me that with his 7 years of work here he succeded to buy a boat and he is going to buy an engine for it. when he is done he will come back to Senegal to be a fisherman. he told me about his wife… when i asked about him having “only” one. he looked at me and told me “only”?? one is toooo mcuh. ahahahahha senegal, italian style!! ahahahah i got a book from him “Poems against the bomb”.
I got a book with short stories last time i met him. it was good, so i decided to give an other change to afrikan lectirature.

next i went to a cake shop to greet the “dottoressa”Niso !!
we didnt sing the now classic anthem .. dottore dottore, dottore del buco del cu, vaffanku vaffanku. it s a bit unpolite to sing to a woman :-), and thenthere were chiara’s parent too.
After this i met nicoletta ( after 3 weeks!). we summed up our latest 3 weeks, i told her about the pictures, and the books. and the gym, and the yoga :-) she spoke about his job, friends and new-bought house.
then i come back home. i saw a movie (twin warrior aka tai chi master, with Jet li): very good shit, but i start feeling tired while watching it. so i decided to sleep a bit. one hour. this hour passed by like wind. i had an other hypnogenic picture in my mind. an other nice one i think. (remind for me: table, alps). I took a shower, i eat a mozzarella ( staaaaaaaaaaaarving!) and went with my bik to uni… guess what. shit they changed the order of people, so he made his speech at 17:30 instead of 18:00. i missed him for an hair.
As it s fashion, we crucifixed him (!!) and took a picture at the two lions ( two ugly jade-coloured lions which patrol the main door: bad luck for the one who challenge them and pass there before their gaduation).
we went to eat on Navigli, nice place. but i kome back home wasted.
i decided to write the nonsense you are reading, and that is the (good) reason of my shitty inklish. i didnt have the strenght to re-read and correct it.

Painting . . .

Last week the national newspaper “Il corriere della sera” give as supplemet the ARTbook of Dali.
It s very good coz at last i ve been able to understand many small details in his works. My fave of the 900 has always been De chirico, now i start really liking Dali ( in a “deeper” way than simply being amazed by the visual..)
Usually i read them before going to bed. i take something like 20-30 minutes of my life each day and while waiting for the first yawns i read some pages of his biography, and a couple explantion of pictures. < !–more–>
This , jointly with my convinction to remember the hypnogenic images, has led me to make some draft of pictures. (Not) so surprising they have a strong sexual content. They are not porno, but phallus and similiar are displayed without impediment ( my dreams on my papers on my bedside table ).
And today my mother “preached” me about that! i get angry of coz. but still this means they have reached the point. they deserve a painting: my next step are improving the Hypnogenic remembering, being able to self-portrait, and improving the skill in drawing.

Rainin’ n Stretchin’

It s raining as fuck also today. not a great problem for me. after all we are not made of sand and some water drop will not kill us. but this rain forbid us any visit to parks, no Aperitivos ( milan’s style, of coz), and people tend to be more lazy.
I still have to see the Ukiyoe exhibition before they close down.
I think i ve to go and see the movie “fame chimica” with Silvia this week, too. Meanwhile i ll go on with my nerdy Hk- kung fu movie!

btw: my Yoga classes are doing well. dunno if i m more “relaxed”, calm or what.. but for sure i m earning mobility on my poor back. the “Surya Namaskar” i do almost every morning is magic for backache, and afternoon excercises are great to earn cm. i dont remember the last time i was able to touch my feet without bending my foot.
at the moment i can move the whole palm under the knee. ok i m still a block of concrete, but i ve earned something like 5-10 cm in 4 months!!

Seratone con la Silvia

What a Night! It started out as a normal night, with the usual after-boxe fatigue that as usal tell me “stay at home, stay at home“. then i started watching an other HK movie starring Jet Li: Swordman II. not That great ( review soon). at 23 marco came and pick me up, and then with Goro and Julie ( a new comer french girl), we went to Rockets.
the place is kinda hip lately, so i wanted to see how it is. It seemed nice, but was packed and smokey so we decided to move over.
at 00:20 i called Silvia ( a former uni-class mate) to tell her: 20-30 minutes and we will be at your place to go to dance at Magazzini. She was with pijama, but i convinced her to get/dress/make up …

Pause for a second: If you know me you know how minutes can be “aleatory”. but this time i beat most of the records. here it s the story

at 00:50 we were still in front of the place, and after myquestion i got a “10 more minutes! as answer. so i called silvia to tell her about my “Late”.
at 1:10 we moved.. just to go in an other place. the place was not neither silvia’s nor mine (where i could get my car). Marco has to see “for a sec” a club to book for a birthday party ( we r turning 30!!)
1:20 Silvia ( mood: pissed) call me. after some pathetic stuttering from my side she gave me 40 more minutes.
1:50 As expectected “the one sec” has turn in chatting and getting drink ( and flirting: Fansci and Julie….) i kal Silvia again. i was an human karpet, ready to make an hole for the shame. after the 69 sorry she tell me ok no prob, and this, told by a girl means no problem for ME it will be for you.
at 2:50 i m dropt at home. i call before she turns into the avengening bride.
at 3:10 i pick her up.
at 3:20 we are dancing at Magazzini generali. luckly we entered for free.
at 3:35 First Cuba ( and kola for me :-)

4:20 light on. but our prodes couple is still strong
